Thank you for choosing the Brooklyn Kitchen for your gift registry!
We are a small single location store that has been operating in Williamsburg since 2006.
We appreciate your business and your partnership in promoting our little store to your guests.

We carry many of the same brand name quality cookware, knives and tools as the big national chains, but also offer a well-curated selection of vintage and local items as well as other small interesting things that you would not find anywhere else.

We offer in-store and online registry services, including online ordering and registry management.

Creating Your Registry

There are two ways to create a gift registry with the Brooklyn Kitchen: in the store or on our website.

  • In Store

Visit us at our store! We are located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn at 100 Frost Street, easily accessible by public transportation or by car. When you come in for your registry appointment, we will set you up with a store profile and answer any questions you may have about the products we carry or how our registry works. Then you can browse the store armed with our barcode scanner! Just scan the product sticker on any item you want to add.

When you’ve finished scanning, we’ll print out a list for you to look over. When everything is finalized, we’ll get to work putting your registry online for your guests to see! Please allow up to 7 days for your list to appear online.

We currently have only a small portion of our products online in our Web Shop. We are working on getting everything online, but in the meantime, anything you register for in the store -will- be added to our webstore and to your registry.

  • On-Line

You can visit our Web Shop where you can sign up for a user account and create a registry. As you browse the store online, you can add items to your registry by clicking the “Add To Wish List” button.

Only about 10% of the products we carry in our brick and mortar store are currently available on our website, so we recommend coming in to see what else we have to offer!

You can always come in to the store to add to your online registry, or manage your in-store created registry through our website.

Picking Out Products

You can register for anything we have in our store (and some things we don’t! See Special Orders.) We carry all the kitchenware you expect to find in a big shop, but what really sets us apart is our selection of locally made and imported artisan goods. We also have a wide slection of home-brewing, cheese- making and canning/preserving supplies! See below for some special considerations.

  • Special Orders

We can easily get any style or color item from the lines that we carry for your registry. The items will appear in your online registry, but will not be ordered until they are purchased from your list. As such, it may take longer to fulfill these orders. We will notify you when a Special Order gift has been purchased, but we will not charge your guest until the item has arrived at the store.

  • Vintage Items

We carry an ever-changing assortment of vintage items, and always have our eyes out for more. When you register for vintage items, we will photograph and list them in your online registry. We will then hide them away until 2 months after your event, at which point you have the option of buying them for yourself, or releasing them back into the store.

To ensure these items are not purchased by other customers, vintage items are only available for phone ordering. This will be noted in their online descriptions.

  • Foods

We stock locally produced and imported pantry items as well as seasonal and local produce and dairy products. We also house a full service butcher shop onsite: The Meat Hook. Registering for canned goods, preserves, teas, and condiments is as easy as scanning them in when you are registering. For perishables like meats, dairy and produce, we recommend registering for Gift Cards. (see Gift Cards.)

  • Classes

Our classes have been spotlighted by a variety of publications on- and off-line and range in price from $40 to $125. There is currently no way to add classes to a gift registry, but our gift Cards can be used towards them.

  • Gift Cards

Our gift cards can be used towards anything at The Brooklyn Kitchen and The Meat Hook, including meat and classes. If you’d like to register for gift cards, just let us know and we will add them to your registry. Your guests can purchase gift cards in preset amounts on our website or any amount over the phone. Our gift cards do not expire.

  • Discontinued Items

We try our best to let registrants know if an item they are registering for has been discontinued,
however this is not always possible. Additionally an item may be discontinued after you have registered. Unfortunately at this time we have no way to backcheck registries for discontinued items, and these items may be removed from our Web Shop without notice.

Purchasing Gifts

Your guests can purchase gifts through our Web Shop, in our store or over the phone.

  • Web Shop

We will provide you with a direct link to your registry to share with your guests. To view your registry without the link they can search using the email address you registered with. The Wish List search is accessible from The Brooklyn Kitchen Home Page by clicking the Gift Registry link in the top navigation bar.

  • In Store

Shopping for a registry in our store is easy. Your guests can stop by the register and we will print out your most recently updated online list showing what has not yet been purchased for you. We will help them find the items they’re interested in and once the gifts have been purchased, we will note it on your online registry as purchased.

You will not be notified when a gift is purchased for you in the store but not left here for you.

  • By Phone

Your guests can purchase gifts over the phone after viewing your registry online. Depending on when they call, we will help customers pick out gifts over the phone when they are unable to view your registry online, but we cannot guarantee that someone will be available to walk them through it.

Receiving Gifts

You can have your gifts shipped to you or we can hold them in the store for you.

  • UPS Shipping

We offer UPS shipping for all orders. Shipping costs are determined by weight and are paid by the gift purchaser.

  • Hold At Store

If you live in Brooklyn, it’s likely that receiving packages from UPS is near impossible, and it can be annoying to have to lug gifts back from your office. For that reason we are happy to hold gifts for you, which saves your guests shipping costs and saves you the trouble of receiving UPS deliveries. We will wrap gifts and hold them in the store for you to pick up at your convenience. You’ll receive a brief email each time we have a gift waiting for you.

As an alternative to coming in several times to pick up gifts, we can set up a free, one time
delivery at a set time after your event.

You always have the option of selecting a different receiving option later.

  • Out of Stock Items

Out of stock items will still appear in your online registry but will not be purchaseable online while they are out of stock. There will be a note on the product that registry shoppers can call us to order so it can be wrapped and ready for you as soon as we get it back in stock.

We will notify you when out of stock gifts have been puchased. Like Special Orders, please allow extra time for fulfillment of these orders.
