As newest addition to The Brooklyn Kitchen, The Library is a community space meant for coming together, regrouping, and getting inspired. “We’re interested in cultivating the kind of culinary exploration that started us off in 2006,” says Taylor Erkkinen, co-owner, The Brooklyn Kitchen. “We haven’t had room in our class calendar…. We want to host our neighbors, friends, vendor partners, authors, farmers and students with the kind of revolutionary programming that launched us [such as] radical tastings, talks and intriguing weirdness in the Library.”
In addition to programming, The Library houses the extensive catalogue of cookbooks from as early as the 19th century and a full collection Gourmet Magazines dating back to 1943. The Brooklyn Kitchen invites the community to peruse the collection and draw inspiration from the historic materials while enjoying a cup of complimentary coffee.
