The great thing about KitchenAid stand mixers is that they aren’t just made for mixing. Sure, you can knead the perfect dough for pizza and cookies, but you can also roll out your pasta, grind meat for sausages, or mill grains for beer. KitchenAid’s line of attachments make your work in the kitchen just that much efficient. You do love efficiency, don’t you?
To Herbert Johnson, efficiency was key. As an engineer, he watched bakers mix dough by hand and knew there had to be a way that was easier and faster. Enter the legendary Kitchenaid mixer. Beginning development in 1914, these mixers were originally launched for industrial work, becoming standard equipment for all U.S. Navy ships by 1917. When Johnson decided to branch out into the home kitchen world, prototype models were given to executive’s wives, with one mentioning, “I don’t know what you call it, but it’s the best kitchen aid I’ve ever owned!”. Throughout the century, the company would expand to produce other home appliances, such as blenders, dishwashers, and refrigerators. The stand mixer, however, has consistently remained in the spotlight.
