Pop-Up Knife Forging

Last week we brought Tadashi Enami, Yuzo Tani and Akimasa Oe of Kikuichi Knives in Japan to Brooklyn! They set up a pop-up forging studio of sorts at Smorgasburg and made their handcrafted Japanese knives, beginning with just a piece of iron. Just like that.

We sell the Kikuichi brand of knives at the store, including the ones the craftsmen made right here in Brooklyn. Stop by to check them out sometime!

Thanks to Clay Williams for all the pics from both the forging and our after party at the Brooklyn Kitchen Lab, and to sushi chef Kaz Iimori for doing his thing.
