I know it’s raining now, but if you were feeling anything like we were this weekend, all you were craving was a spot underneath a tree and a very tall, very cold beverage. I’m not sure what the Turkey’s Nest is up to these days but as far as refreshment goes, this drink comes in a close second to their “styros” of slushie machine margaritas (or a solid first if you think it’s too early to drink. And by early I mean you’re still at work.) My staff tells me this is the only way they can get through their day and I believe it. I find stubbies stashed everywhere around the store: in the locker-room, in the walk-in (behind a side of beef) and underneath the register. I’ve even found one in my desk drawer. And if you’re smart, you’ll have your last name scribbled on a piece of masking tape slapped to the side of the bottle.
The caffeine comes courtesy of Stumptown and the sugar comes via Amish buggy from Maplehofe Dairy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
There’s not much to the recipe.
