Q: Do you do in -person cooking classes?
A: Yeahhh! (& we kill it!) We are currently open Thursday-Sunday at the New Essex Market. We offer 7 public classes a week plus private events!
Q: Where are you located & how do I get there?
A: The kitchen sits above the spacious new Essex Market, at 88 Essex Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. We are on the mezzanine level in the Demo Kitchen (Essex Kitchen). Accessible via elevator & stairs at the Broome St. entrance
We are off the F/M/J/Z subways stations & a few blocks from B/D Subway station.
Q: How do the cooking classes work?
A: First, you head over to our website( looks like you are already here). Next head to the “Classes” tab on our homepage. Here you will see the calendar 1 month at a time. Click on a class to learn more. Like what you see? Book it right there in the link.
Next, show up on the date of your class. All classes are 2 hours unless otherwise noted. It is is about 1 hour 45 min of hands-on learning guided by industry pofessionals. You will finish each class with a meal or lite bite depending on the class (Check the class menu for what you will be eating.) We take care of the rest( aka we clean up, so you don’t have to!)
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
Nope! See above answer for more. Show up on time with proof of vax & eagerness to learn & have fun!
Q: What about allergies or dietary restrictions?
A: We take these things seriously. We ask that you include all allergies for everyone in your party when booking, but feel free to email us if you have any questions. We can accomodate most things with notice.
Q: Do you do private events/classes?
Yes! We love them. Whether it is a field trip, corporate team building, bachelor(ette) party, or your weekly book club, we’d love to host you. Email us for more info! (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Q:What’s the covid policy?
A: It’s been quite a year (and however many months at this point) & as we know, things are always changing. Check out the COVID POLICIES tab on our homepage for the most up to date info! At this time, we require proof of vaccine & mask wearing until the meal portion of class.
Q: What is your cancellation/refund policy?
A:You may request to cancel your ticket for a full refund, up to 72 hours before the date and time of the event. Cancellations between 25-72 hours before the event may transferred to a different date/time of the same class. Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the class date/time may not receive a refund nor a transfer. When you register for a class, you agree to these terms.
Q: Is there an age requirement?
A: Because we use sharp knives & hot tools, all classes are 15 & up. Feel free to email for exceptions. (email@example.com)
Q: I have a gift card, can I use it?
YES! We understand that giftcards have been moving around since our inception & not all codes look alike. If it begins with “THBRK”, type the whole code in the giftcard section. If it doesn’t, try the last 4 digits. If it still doesn’t work please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) with info to help us look it up (Name of gifter, name of giftee, any email address associated with the gift card- things like that) We’ll get to the bottom of it!
Q: Are you hiring?
